As it was mentioned, one of the major activities of NGDIR is to define NGDIR project and to draw up a three -Year programme. Therefore, in this section primarily future plans have been introduced and then more detailed descriptions have been presented for each of them.
-NGDIR has been established, with general strategy of attracting geosciences data producers and consumers contribution, to take initiative worldwide.
-NGDIR through analysis of feeble and strong points, threats and opportunities in the framework of Iran's macro economic, social and cultural development objectives, undertakes the following tasks.
1. Supporting the public abilities to easy access to geosciences data.
2. Development of mutual collaborations with other institutions, organizations, geosciences universities at national and international level to exchange data and centralized information dissemination.
3. Establishing unique electronic library in the Middle East
4. Preparing of a research environment for inter-disciplinary branches related to geosciences.
5. Promoting of quantitative and qualitative level of geosciences databank.
6. Coordinating of policies and standards of geosciences spatial data and strengthen the knowledge of its application.
7. Quick information dissemination and public education on natural hazards to reduce damages.
8. Providing suitable environment for data management
9. More usage of geosciences data at prospecting and exploring stages of subsurface resources.
10. Providing software and hardware facilities to collect and protect earth sciences data
11. Public education on Iran's mineral reserves potentials at regional and world-wide level in order to attract investment.
12. Presentation of basic geosciences data, accurately and comprehensively to reduce the investment risk in all mineral, civil, environmental, energy and communication plans.
